Today I snuck away from my family for a while and enjoyed the Rochester sunshine in my old neighborhood. For all that adventure called me away, I did live in a very delightful area.
Heading down Park Ave, there is not better place to go for fun gifts or afternoon browsing than the Parkleigh, full of all things classy and quirky. It was just the place to get a birthday present for my dear friend.
Further down the winding Park Ave sidewalks is Jine’s.
Diner perfection. Sidewalk dining wonderful.
As I continued strolling, I found myself turning familiar corners and ended up on the front steps of my old apartment. In this old house I spent the better part of my twenties, planting in its gardens, shoveling its steps, walking its neighborhoods and loving it for giving me my taste of independence.
And the church that helped raise me.
