I left Texas under the burning Texas sun and arrived in Chicago to ominous gray and drenching rain. I took it as a sign of how great this week is going to be. I didn’t even mind the delay of my flight as I sat by a window watching the rain fall outside.
It is nice to be back in the northeast again and I loved the long travel day it took to get here; two planes, a taxi and a train. I was in NYC for 40 minutes, long enough to fill my craving for a good NY slice of pizza and catch my train north. I have finished one novel and am well into a second. It is everything I love about vacation.
I have only been away for a few hours, but standing on a patio in Troy, NY sipping Black Forest Ale (my favorite) and watching the sun set over the Hudson River, I couldn’t help but already feel recharged. A vacation really does wonders.
